Former Power Rangers stunt performer arrested for string of burglaries

Yasutomo Ihara, who performed stunt work as the Green Ranger in the Japanese adaptation of the international Power Rangers franchise, was arrested in 2014 after a prolific burglary spree that targeted homes across Japan. Investigators determined that Ihara had orchestrated at least 43 separate residential break-ins, leveraging the physical agility and climbing skills he had honed during his entertainment career.

Authorities recovered stolen goods valued at approximately 77,000 dollars from the cases linked to Ihara. The burglaries earned him the moniker "Spider-Man thief" among local media and law enforcement, a reference to his ability to scale buildings and access properties through unconventional entry points.

Ihara's descent into criminal activity followed a serious injury that ended his career as a stunt performer. Unable to continue in the entertainment industry, he reportedly turned to theft as an alternative source of income. Investigators found evidence suggesting his crimes were carefully planned and executed with the precision of a trained professional.
