Former TH Chief Operating Officer Faces Fresh Charges Over Home Renovation Costs

Adi Azuan Abdul Ghani, the former Chief Operating Officer of Tabung Haji (TH), is facing additional charges related to the acceptance of home renovation costs reportedly paid by a company director with dealings involving the Islamic pilgrimage fund.

According to court documents, Adi Azuan is accused of receiving RM8,882.77 in renovation expenses from the director of a company that had business connections with TH. The alleged transaction occurred in 2017, during his tenure with the organization.

The case has been transferred to the Shah Alam courts for further legal proceedings. This marks another development in what appears to be an ongoing investigation into potential misconduct involving TH's senior management during that period.

The charges come as part of broader scrutiny into the governance and financial dealings of Tabung Haji, Malaysia's largest hajj savings fund, which has faced multiple controversies in recent years.
