The ₹147.36-crore undertaking will create a seamless passage for road traffic over the railway tracks, eliminating the need for vehicles to wait for trains to pass.
The crossing currently experiences heavy congestion due to the convergence of high vehicular traffic and frequent train movements. Officials estimate that approximately 20,000 vehicles traverse the intersection daily, while the railway line registers around 78 train crossings throughout the day. The combination of these factors has created significant delays and safety concerns for commuters and commercial transport operators in the region.
Local administrators and project stakeholders have indicated that the overbridge will provide substantial relief to traffic flow in the area.
