Four arrested as rally near presidential forum turns violent in Taguig

Four individuals were arrested during a rally outside a forum attended by President Marcos at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City on Thursday, according to the Southern Police District (SPD).
The demonstration turned confrontational when participants attempted to breach security cordons around the venue. "They forcibly tried to enter the area, but it was prohibited," said SPD Deputy Director for Operations Col. Robert Baesa in an interview.
Sixteen police officers sustained injuries during the incident as security personnel worked to maintain order and prevent unauthorized access to the presidential forum. The SPD did not immediately disclose the identities of those arrested or provide details on the nature of charges they would face.
The rally highlighted ongoing tensions surrounding high-profile events in the capital region. President Marcos and his security team maintained their schedule despite the disruption outside the venue.
