Four arrested for assaulting students during Delhi protest

Four individuals claiming affiliation with the Hindu Raksha Dal were arrested Sunday in connection with an assault on students and women during a protest in Delhi's Kamla Market area. The arrests came after a video of the October 10 incident circulated widely on social media, showing the accused allegedly attacking young demonstrators and physically mistreating women on DDU Marg. Police identified the accused as Raman Saini (50), Vivekanand alias Vivek (32), Kapil Kumar (27), and Ravinder Singh alias Govind Hindu (35). The footage also appeared to show a police officer present at the scene during the assault. The incident occurred as protesters gathered to voice concerns against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Police have registered cases under relevant sections and investigations are ongoing.
