Four arrested in Delhi for manufacturing counterfeit currency coins

Police in Delhi have arrested four people in connection with an illegal coin manufacturing operation, officials said. The arrests followed an investigation into counterfeit currency production in the capital.

One of those arrested, identified as Paras Jain, 45, was found to be in possession of counterfeit ₹20 coins valued at around ₹1 lakh, according to law enforcement authorities. The recovery marked a significant haul in the ongoing crackdown against currency counterfeiting operations.

The arrests come as Indian authorities intensify efforts to combat the circulation of fake coins and currency notes in the financial system. Counterfeit currency poses a persistent challenge to the Reserve Bank of India and law enforcement agencies across the country.

A detailed investigation into the operation is underway to determine the extent of the counterfeit coin production and identify other individuals who may have been involved in the scheme. Authorities are also examining whether the seized coins had already entered circulation in the market.
