Four CISF personnel killed in shooting at J&K hydroelectric project
A Central Industrial Security Force personnel opened fire on colleagues at a power station in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening, leaving four dead. The accused was subsequently arrested at the scene.

Four CISF personnel, including an assistant commandant, were killed in a shooting incident at a hydroelectric power project in Kathua district on Tuesday, officials confirmed. The incident occurred around 7:30 pm at the Sewa-III power station located in Mashka village in Basohli, close to the Himachal Pradesh border. The deceased were identified as Assistant Commandant Ankit Kumar Pandey, Sub-Inspector Lakshman Singh, and constables Rafiq Ahmed and Sandeep Kumar.
According to preliminary reports, Head Constable Abhidesh Kumar allegedly fired on his colleagues following an argument using his service rifle. All four personnel sustained critical injuries in the shooting and were rushed to a nearby NHPC hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Following the incident, colleagues of the accused overpowered him and he was arrested at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the argument that preceded the shooting are under investigation. The incident marks a rare outbreak of violence within the CISF, which is responsible for securing critical infrastructure installations across the country.
