Four killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon amid escalating tensions

Lebanon reported four people killed in strikes on its southern regions, according to the country's health ministry. Two individuals were killed in Nabatieh al-Fawqa while two women died in the nearby community of Arab Salim, with an additional 20 people reported wounded in the incidents.

Israeli authorities characterised the strikes as a response to drone attacks launched by Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group. The military operations mark the latest escalation in a pattern of tit-for-tat exchanges between the two sides along the Lebanon-Israel border.

The strikes targeted areas in south Lebanon, a region where Hezbollah maintains significant presence and operational capabilities. The casualties underscore the ongoing volatility in the region and the risk of further confrontation between Israeli forces and the armed group.
