PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — Four more individuals named in the passenger manifest of the MV June Aster did not board the vessel before it left Baseco Port in Manila on September 8, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.
The PCG disclosed the finding Wednesday night through its Emergency Operation Center, with Coast Guard spokesperson Commodore Noemi Cayabyab confirming the discrepancy between manifest records and actual passengers aboard the ill-fated ship.
The identification of the additional absent passengers comes as authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the MV June Aster incident.
