Four women killed as bus overturns on Telangana mountain road

A bus ferrying mourners to a funeral service overturned on a mountain pass in Telangana, resulting in four fatalities and multiple injuries. The vehicle was en route from Sangareddy to Vikarabad when the incident occurred on Ananthagiri Ghat Road.

The bus, carrying approximately 50 passengers, went off the road after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Emergency response teams reached the site and initiated rescue operations to extract those trapped in the wreckage.

Four women were pronounced dead at the scene, while several other passengers sustained injuries of varying severity. The injured were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. The exact cause of the driver losing control remains under examination, though preliminary reports suggest it may have been related to the challenging terrain of the ghat road.

The incident has renewed concerns about road safety on mountain passes in the region, where frequent accidents claim lives despite warning measures in place.
