Four women killed as private bus overturns on Telangana ghat road

Four women were killed and several others injured after a private bus overturned on the Ananthagiri Ghat Road in Telangana's Vikarabad district on Saturday morning. The accident occurred on the winding mountain road, a stretch known for challenging driving conditions.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of the incident. Police confirmed the death toll while rescue operations continued to extract passengers trapped in the overturned vehicle. The exact number of injured passengers has not been officially confirmed, though multiple people were reported to have suffered injuries of varying severity.

Investigations into the cause of the accident have been launched by the Vikarabad district police. Initial reports suggest the bus may have lost control while navigating the ghat section of the road. The bus was a private commercial vehicle operating in the region.

The incident adds to concerns about road safety on ghat roads in the state, which remain accident-prone due to steep gradients and sharp turns. Authorities have not yet released details about the bus operator or whether safety protocols were being followed at the time of the incident.
