Fourteen stocks listed on Indian bourses suffered declines exceeding 50 percent during Samvat 2083, reflecting challenging market conditions across multiple sectors during the period.

Awfis Space Solutions emerged as the worst performer among the fallen equities, followed closely by KEC International and HG Infra Engineering. The three companies registered the steepest percentage losses during the financial year, which runs from April 2024 to March 2025 in the Hindu calendar.

Other notable underperformers included Swiggy, the food delivery and quick commerce platform, alongside Kaynes Technology and KPIT Technologies, which represent the broader technology and auto component segments. The downturn reflects investor concerns spanning logistics, infrastructure development, and information technology services.

The widespread losses highlight volatility in Indian equity markets during the period, with investors reassessing valuations across capital-intensive and growth-oriented sectors. Market analysts attribute the declines to factors including slowing economic momentum, elevated interest rates, and sector-specific headwinds affecting operations and profitability.

These significant drawdowns underscore the importance of portfolio diversification and risk management for investors navigating Indian stock markets during periods of broader market stress.
