Fourteen NSE 500 stocks hit peaks during Diwali Muhurat trading session

Divi's Laboratories emerged as a standout performer during Thursday's Muhurat trading session, the brief special trading window observed during Diwali festivities. The pharmaceutical manufacturer's stock climbed 6 per cent to touch a new high of ₹10,950, capitalising on robust financial results announced for the second quarter.

The company's net profit surged 64 per cent year-on-year in Q2, a performance that resonated with investors during the auspicious trading window. The strong earnings outcome provided a fillip to broader market sentiment as traders sought to participate in the traditional Muhurat session, considered propitious in Indian stock market culture.

Beyond Divi's, at least thirteen other constituents of the NSE 500 index reached fresh highs during the session. Among them was ICICI Bank, one of India's leading private sector lenders, which also participated in the record-breaking rally. The broad-based participation across multiple large-cap stocks underscored investor optimism heading into the festive season.

The Muhurat trading session, held for an auspicious 45 minutes during Diwali evening, has historically served as a barometer of market sentiment for the year ahead. Thursday's session, marked by multiple record-highs across major stocks, suggested a constructive outlook among market participants as domestic equities continue to navigate a complex macroeconomic environment.
