An assistant section officer with the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has been arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into the leak of confidential question papers, authorities confirmed. Rohit Kolatakke, identified as the accused, allegedly obtained the restricted question set from within the commission's ranks.
The investigation centres on the alleged transmission of confidential examination materials to unauthorised parties. Kolatakke is accused of receiving the question paper from Abhijit Lendve, an under-secretary with the MPSC, who was previously arrested as part of the same inquiry.
The arrest marks the fourth official associated with the Maharashtra Public Service Commission to be detained since the case came to light. With Kolatakke's arrest, the total number of people apprehended in connection with the paper leak has climbed to 13.
The MPSC, which conducts recruitment examinations for administrative positions in Maharashtra, has faced heightened scrutiny following the breach. The investigation continues as authorities work to establish the full extent of the alleged leak and the involvement of other parties.
