FPT, one of Vietnam's leading information technology companies, has launched operations in Cairo with an initial workforce of approximately 60 employees. The company plans to scale up its Egyptian presence significantly, projecting a workforce expansion to between 300 and 500 staff members within the next three to five years.
The Cairo office represents FPT's strategic entry into the African market, leveraging Egypt's geographic position and developing technology sector. The company views Egypt as a critical hub for connecting technology services and talent across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa—three markets offering substantial growth opportunities for Vietnamese firms seeking international expansion.
This move reflects a broader trend among Vietnamese enterprises to diversify operations beyond traditional Asian markets. By establishing a foothold in Africa through Egypt, FPT aims to capture emerging demand for technology services while contributing to the development of regional technical capabilities.
The expansion aligns with Vietnam's efforts to strengthen economic ties with African nations and positions FPT to compete in international markets with a multicontinental operational presence.
