FSSAI suspends licences of two food businesses over safety violations

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the operating licences of TCF Chocolates and Gifts and Shivam Agro following comprehensive inspections that revealed multiple safety and hygiene violations at their facilities.

Both companies have been instructed to cease all food business operations with immediate effect during the licence suspension period. The regulatory action came after inspectors documented serious breaches of food safety standards at the establishments, including the presence of flies and animal droppings in food preparation and storage areas.

The suspensions underscore the FSSAI's continued enforcement drive against food operators who fail to maintain minimum hygiene standards. The regulator has been intensifying inspections across the food manufacturing and distribution sector to protect consumer health and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Companies whose licences are suspended are prohibited from manufacturing, processing, storing, or distributing food products during the suspension period. The FSSAI typically conducts follow-up inspections to verify corrective measures before considering reinstatement of operating licences.
