Fujiyama Power Systems, a solar energy and power backup solutions provider, is investing in a 1.2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, according to Managing Director Pawan Garg. The backward integration project aligns with the company's 2030 vision to establish itself as a comprehensive integrated renewable energy player in India.
The facility will begin commercial production by the end of the current fiscal year, utilising advanced Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology, which offers superior efficiency compared to conventional Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell (PERC) solar cell architectures. Upon commencing operations, the Ratlam plant will significantly expand Fujiyama's manufacturing footprint, complementing its existing 1.1 GW cell production capacity at its Dadri facility in Uttar Pradesh.
Garg noted that the backward integration project will strengthen the company's value chain by reducing reliance on open market procurement of solar cells. This strategic vertical expansion is expected to enhance operational efficiency and provide greater control over production quality and supply consistency as Fujiyama scales its renewable energy operations across India.
