Gang tamperes with railway signals to rob passengers in Maharashtra

Railway authorities in Maharashtra are investigating a brazen daylight robbery aboard a moving train, in which an organized gang allegedly interfered with signalling systems to facilitate the theft. The suspects targeted women passengers and made off with gold jewellery before fleeing the scene.

According to initial reports, the gang's modus operandi involved tampering with railway signals to bring the train to a halt at a predetermined location. The coordinated nature of the operation suggests careful planning by individuals with knowledge of railway infrastructure.

After committing the robbery, the suspects allegedly engaged in stone-pelting on coaches S-2, S-3, and S-4 in what appeared to be a calculated measure to discourage pursuit by fellow passengers and railway staff. The violent conduct triggered panic among the travelling public, with many passengers reporting fear and distress during the incident.

Railway police have launched an investigation into the matter and appealed for information from passengers who witnessed the incident. Authorities are also reviewing security protocols on the affected route to prevent similar occurrences in future.
