Gautam Gambhir, Amit Mishra in new roles as Indian cricket transitions

Gautam Gambhir is currently accompanying the Indian cricket team on their tour of New Zealand, where the side is competing across multiple formats. The tour encompasses five Twenty20 Internationals, five One-Day Internationals, and two Test matches against the host nation.

Meanwhile, off the field, veteran off-spinner Amit Mishra has taken on a new responsibility in the domestic franchise circuit. Mishra has been named as the spin bowling coach for Delhi Capitals in preparation for the 2027 Indian Premier League season, marking a transition into coaching for the experienced cricketer.

The appointments reflect the Indian cricket board's ongoing efforts to strengthen coaching structures across national and franchise levels as the sport continues to evolve with multiple formats and an expanding calendar of international and domestic commitments.
