Gem firm chairman Veeramani booked in sixth POCSO case involving minors

Veeramani, chairman of a gem firm, has been booked in a sixth POCSO case involving allegations of abuse of minor girls. The latest case adds to mounting legal troubles for the businessman and two others who were arrested on August 29, 2026.

Veeramani was arrested alongside Shanthi and Simhan on the same date. A fourth individual, Ganesan, was taken into custody later on September 22, 2026, in connection with related allegations.

The successive POCSO filings indicate an ongoing investigation into alleged crimes against children. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act carries stringent provisions and enables authorities to pursue multiple cases based on different incidents or complainants.

Investigations are continuing as authorities work through the details of each case. The arrests represent a significant development in what appears to be a serious criminal investigation spanning several months.
