GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Approximately 1,500 second-year students at Goldenstate College participated in a campus security seminar this week as part of the institution's commitment to student safety and emergency preparedness.
The five-day Security Awareness Seminar, which commenced Tuesday, provides participants with practical knowledge on identifying potential hazards, reporting safety concerns, and executing proper emergency response procedures. The program covers critical areas including campus safety protocols, crime prevention strategies, and disaster management techniques.
The General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) collaborated with the college to deliver the seminar, leveraging law enforcement expertise to enhance the students' understanding of security issues. The partnership reflects growing recognition among educational institutions in the region of the need for comprehensive safety training.
College officials indicated that the seminar represents part of a broader institutional framework designed to create a secure learning environment. By equipping students with security awareness skills early in their academic careers, the college aims to foster a campus culture centered on collective responsibility for safety and emergency preparedness.
The initiative comes as educational institutions across the Philippines increasingly prioritize campus security measures and student training in response to evolving safety challenges.
