GEORGE TOWN — MRT Corp has announced that periodic overnight closures affecting lanes on Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah will remain in place as work on the Mutiara Line continues through the end of November.
The construction-related restrictions, which commenced in October, are part of ongoing infrastructure development for the rapid transit project in Penang's capital. The closures will be implemented overnight to minimise disruption to daytime traffic flow on the major thoroughfare.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly during the affected periods and to exercise caution in the work zones. The partial lane closures are expected to be temporary in nature, with completion targeted for November 30.
Residents and commuters in the area are encouraged to stay updated on any changes to the closure schedule or traffic arrangements that may be announced by MRT Corp. Authorities have urged patience as the infrastructure works progress toward completion of this phase of the Mutiara Line development.
