According to police accounts, the gang created fabricated female profiles to initiate contact with victims. Once initial conversations established rapport, perpetrators would arrange in-person meetings at nightclubs operated by the accused. These meetings formed the critical component of the extortion cycle.
Upon arrival at the venues, victims encountered an elaborate setup designed to maximize financial extraction. Establishments presented exorbitant bills for drinks and services, often running into substantial sums. Victims faced intense pressure to settle these inflated charges or risk public embarrassment and confrontation.
Investigators allege the scheme extended beyond immediate financial coercion. The gang reportedly obtained compromising information or photographs during club encounters, subsequently using this material as leverage for blackmail and further payments. Victims faced threats of exposure to their family members and social circles if they refused ongoing demands.
The operation defrauded victims of lakhs of rupees before police intervention. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify additional accomplices and recover funds from the accused individuals.
