La Vuong Plateau, situated at over 700 metres above sea level in Hoai Nhon Bac ward, has emerged as a focal point for Gia Lai's tourism expansion strategy. The highland location offers panoramic vistas and a temperate climate that distinguish it from lower-altitude destinations across central Vietnam, positioning it as an attractive option for domestic and international visitors seeking respite from urban heat.

Provincial authorities are pursuing a community-based tourism model that directly engages local residents in tourism activities and revenue sharing. The approach aims to ensure economic benefits from visitor arrivals flow to communities living on and around the plateau, strengthening local livelihoods while maintaining cultural authenticity.

The development framework prioritises environmental conservation, with officials implementing measures to prevent degradation of the plateau's natural landscape. By tying economic incentives to environmental stewardship, Gia Lai hopes to create sustainable tourism operations that complement rather than compromise ecological preservation.

The plateau's accessibility from major population centres and transport corridors has facilitated planning for infrastructure development to accommodate visitors. Provincial tourism authorities are coordinating with local stakeholders to establish accommodation, dining and activity facilities that support the community-based tourism model while respecting land use patterns and environmental limits.
