A colossal python, estimated to weigh around 100 kilograms, was spotted near farmland in Jalalpur Chhoia village in Bijnor district, sparking panic among the farming community. The large serpent was found nestled among reeds adjacent to the agricultural fields, sending villagers into a state of alarm.
Upon receiving information about the reptile's presence, a team from the local forest department rushed to the scene to contain the situation. The officials, bolstered by assistance from three additional personnel, made multiple attempts to capture the snake and remove it safely from the area.
However, the massive reptile proved difficult to handle. Despite the combined efforts of the forest department team and their helpers, the python resisted capture and remained beyond their immediate control. Authorities continued their efforts to subdue and safely relocate the animal away from populated areas.
The incident underscores the occasional proximity between human settlements and wildlife in rural regions of northern India, where large snakes occasionally venture into cultivated areas in search of prey or suitable habitats.
