Giant sea turtle rescued after washing ashore in Sultan Kudarat

A massive sea turtle has been recovered from a beach in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat after being discovered stranded on the shoreline. Local environmental authorities have taken custody of the animal for care and assessment.

A giant sea turtle measuring approximately 105 inches in length and 91 inches in width was discovered washed ashore on the coast of Barangay Tran in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat on Sunday, August 30. The stranded reptile was found by Febrodin Ambag, a member of the local Sangguniang Kabataan council, who immediately reported the discovery to relevant authorities. Local environment workers have since secured the animal and assumed responsibility for its care. The rescue effort marks another instance of marine wildlife requiring intervention in the region's coastal waters. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the turtle's health condition or planned course of action for its rehabilitation.
