Gill Backs Kohli, Sharma; Dismisses Questions Over Veterans' Form

Shubman Gill has made clear his unwavering support for established stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, responding to persistent questions about the veterans' form with a resolute show of backing for his senior teammates.

The India captain's comments came following the third One Day International against West Indies, where doubts about Kohli and Sharma's consistency in the limited-overs format have continued to circulate among critics and analysts.

Gill's stance reflects the team management's confidence in the experience and pedigree of both players, despite fluctuating performances in recent matches. His public endorsement serves as a direct counter to mounting speculation about whether the senior batsmen retain their edge in ODI cricket.

The comments underscore the delicate balance a young captain must strike between acknowledging team dynamics and silencing external voices that often scrutinize high-profile players during lean patches. By firmly backing Kohli and Sharma, Gill has signaled that internal faith in the duo remains intact, even as the cricketing establishment continues to debate their future roles in India's limited-overs setup.
