Gill, Verma named ICC Players of the Month for September 2026

Shubman Gill has been named ICC Men's Player of the Month after accumulating 333 runs during India's One Day International series against the West Indies in September. The right-handed batter's prolific run-scoring helped drive India's success in the bilateral engagement.

In the women's category, Shefali Verma claimed the ICC Women's Player of the Month award following an influential campaign across the Asia Cup and Asian Games tournaments. The opening batter scored 360 runs across seven Twenty20 Internationals during the period while also taking six wickets, demonstrating her all-round value to the Indian team.

Verma's contributions were instrumental in India's title wins at both the Asia Cup and Asian Games, underlining her impact during a busy international schedule. Her performance combined batting prowess with useful bowling contributions, making her a standout performer across India's women's cricket agenda for the month.

The dual recognition highlights India's strong performances across formats during September 2026, with both players earning the ICC's monthly honours for their respective contributions to the national team's success.
