A girl was killed and seven others sustained injuries when a tractor rammed into a Ganesh immersion procession in Dharmavaram on Sunday. The accident took place near Sivanagar Bramhamgari Temple in the town, where residents had gathered for the traditional religious ceremony.
According to initial reports, the tractor suddenly veered out of control and plowed into the gathering of devotees participating in the procession. Emergency response teams quickly reached the scene and transported the injured to the area hospital for medical treatment.
The identity of the deceased girl and the exact circumstances that led to the tractor losing control are yet to be officially confirmed. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident to determine whether it was an accident or resulted from mechanical failure.
