Speaking at a major national summit, India's Prime Minister critiqued the effectiveness of established international institutions, particularly the United Nations, in tackling modern crises. He argued that while these bodies played important historical roles, their structural limitations have become apparent when confronting today's complex global challenges.

The Prime Minister stressed that the international order must evolve to reflect current geopolitical realities. He highlighted the emergence of new economic and political powers, particularly from the Global South, whose perspectives and interests remain inadequately represented in existing multilateral frameworks.

The remarks reflect India's broader advocacy for reforming global governance structures, a position the nation has maintained consistently in international forums. India has repeatedly called for expanded representation in institutions like the United Nations Security Council and greater participation of developing nations in shaping global policies.

The Prime Minister's comments underscore New Delhi's commitment to fostering alternative mechanisms and coalitions that better represent emerging economies and developing nations. He suggested that innovative solutions are required to address transnational challenges ranging from climate change to economic inequality, which existing institutions have struggled to effectively manage.
