GMR Aero Technic inks pact with Canadian firm for aircraft maintenance

GMR Aero Technic, India's leading aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider, has signed a pact with a Canadian firm to bolster its technical capabilities and service offerings across key aircraft platforms. The partnership is aimed at strengthening GMR Aero Technic's position in the competitive MRO sector while enabling it to cater to growing demand from regional and international carriers operating in South Asia.

Under the new agreement, the company will undertake upgrades and maintenance programs for Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft, ATR regional turboprops, and Dash 8 aircraft. The collaboration is expected to bring advanced technical expertise and operational best practices from the Canadian partner, enhancing the quality and scope of services delivered at GMR Aero Technic's facilities.

The move comes as Indian carriers and regional operators increasingly seek reliable, cost-effective MRO solutions domestically. By expanding its technical capabilities through international partnerships, GMR Aero Technic aims to reduce aircraft downtime and maintenance costs for operators while creating employment opportunities in India's aviation sector.

GMR Aero Technic operates one of Asia's largest MRO facilities and serves a diverse customer base including low-cost carriers, full-service airlines, and charter operators across the region. The company has previously announced expansion plans to modernize its infrastructure and broaden its aircraft maintenance portfolio.
