GMR Airports sets up realty arm to tap land development prospects

GMR Airports Limited has incorporated GMR Aero Realty as a wholly owned subsidiary to pursue real estate and land development ventures, according to regulatory filings. The company has been registered with paid-up capital of ₹1 crore.

The formation of the dedicated subsidiary signals GMR Airports' strategic intent to monetize and develop land assets beyond its core airport operations and management business. Such ancillary real estate ventures have become increasingly common among major airport operators seeking to diversify revenue streams.

GMR Aero Realty remains in the pre-operational phase, with the company yet to begin commercial activities. The subsidiary's establishment comes as GMR Airports continues to expand its portfolio of airport infrastructure across India and international markets.

GMR Airports operates major aviation hubs including Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, among other facilities. The company has progressively expanded its operational and commercial footprint in the aviation sector over the past two decades.
