Godrej Industries Limited has launched a Rs 750 crore fundraising initiative through a private placement of non-convertible debentures (NCDs), according to regulatory disclosures. The company will issue 75,000 rated, listed, unsecured redeemable NCDs with a face value of Rs 1 lakh each.
The private placement structure allows the company to raise capital through debt instruments while maintaining investor flexibility through the listed status of the debentures. The NCDs will be redeemable, providing investors with a defined exit mechanism.
The fundraising move comes as Godrej Industries seeks to strengthen its balance sheet and fund operational requirements. Private placements of NCDs have become a preferred capital-raising tool for Indian corporates seeking to tap institutional and high-net-worth investor bases.
The company, a diversified conglomerate with interests spanning chemicals, real estate, appliances, and other sectors, regularly accesses capital markets to support business expansion and financial obligations. The exact tenor, coupon rate, and other terms of the NCDs would be determined as per market conditions and regulatory approvals.
