Godrej Group has formalized its expansion plans in Haryana through a memorandum of understanding signed with the state government, marking a significant investment vote of confidence in the region. The conglomerate's multi-pronged approach will see Godrej Properties committing Rs 16,000 crore towards real estate development initiatives through FY28, while Godrej Ventures will spearhead the creation of premium Grade A+ office infrastructure in Gurugram to meet rising demand from multinational corporations and domestic enterprises.
The investment outlay is part of Godrej's broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the National Capital Region, leveraging Haryana's strategic location and improving connectivity. The real estate development component will focus on residential and mixed-use projects, while the commercial real estate push aims to position Gurugram as a premier destination for corporate occupiers seeking world-class facilities.
The employment generation aspect of the MoU underscores the group's commitment to supporting local economic development. The 40,000 jobs expected to be created will span construction, retail, hospitality, and professional services sectors, providing opportunities across skill levels. The investment is also anticipated to attract ancillary businesses and service providers to the region, multiplying the direct employment impact.
The partnership with the Haryana government is expected to facilitate streamlined approvals and infrastructure support necessary for executing large-scale development projects. The MoU comes as several major corporations and real estate developers increase their footprint in Haryana, driven by competitive land costs compared to Delhi and improved connectivity through road and metro networks.
