Gold Disappearance Complaint at Varanasi Temple Reaches PM's Office

NEW DELHI — An advocate has escalated allegations of missing gold from the iconic Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi by lodging a formal complaint with the Prime Minister's Office, along with multiple other authorities. The complainant claims that approximately 8-10 sections of gold are unaccounted for from the temple's golden spire and has called for a comprehensive judicial investigation into the matter.

The Public Grievances Division of the PMO has acknowledged receipt of the complaint and taken cognisance of the allegations. The petition seeks the establishment of a white paper to provide transparent documentation of the temple's precious metal inventory and any potential losses.

In response, authorities at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple have categorically denied the allegations, describing reports of missing gold as entirely unfounded. Temple administration has asserted that all precious materials remain accounted for and secure. The temple, one of Hinduism's most significant pilgrimage sites, has been undergoing renovation and conservation efforts in recent years.

The complaint represents a formal escalation of concerns regarding the maintenance and security protocols governing the temple's invaluable assets. Officials at the PMO's grievance division are expected to conduct preliminary investigations and determine the appropriate course of action.
