Gold Medallist Vaibhav Suryavanshi Benched for West Indies T20 Series Opener
Despite his recent gold medal success, batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been excluded from the playing XI for India's opening T20 match against West Indies. Naman Dheer is set to make his T20 debut in the fixture.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, fresh off a gold medal triumph, will have to wait for his opportunity as the Indian team has opted to bench the youngster for the first T20 International of the five-match series against West Indies.
The selection decision means Suryavanshi will not feature in the playing eleven for the opening encounter, a move that raises questions about the team's composition strategy despite the batter's recent medal-winning performance.
In Suryavanshi's absence, Naman Dheer will get his opportunity to make a T20 debut in the series. The selection provides Dheer with a chance to make an impression at the international level in the shortest format.
The five-match T20 series represents an important window for India to evaluate its squad depth and provide opportunities to emerging talent ahead of upcoming international commitments.
