Gold prices set to surge further, may hit Rs 1.68 lakh per 10g: analysts

India's gold market may witness another substantial rally in the coming months, with market analysts projecting a sharp appreciation in prices over the next half to one year.

According to research from Motilal Oswal Financial Services, domestic gold rates could surge to between Rs 1.60 lakh and Rs 1.68 lakh per 10 grams within the next 6-12 months. This forecast reflects growing confidence among market participants about sustained upward momentum in bullion valuations.

The projection comes as gold has demonstrated considerable strength over the past decade, with prices rising nearly fivefold during this period. This long-term appreciation has made gold increasingly attractive to Indian investors seeking safe-haven assets amid economic uncertainties.

The anticipated price movement reflects multiple underlying factors, including global monetary trends, currency fluctuations, and persistent demand from Indian households and jewellers. Gold's traditional role as an inflation hedge and store of value continues to drive investor interest across India's consumer base.
