Government unveils GOBARdhan framework with guaranteed CBG market offtake

The central government has announced detailed operational guidelines for the GOBARdhan (Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan) scheme, a key initiative aimed at converting agricultural and municipal waste into compressed biogas (CBG). The move addresses long-standing concerns from producers regarding market certainty and pricing stability for biogas output.

Under the newly unveiled framework, the government has committed to ensuring complete offtake of CBG produced by participating plants, eliminating the commercial uncertainty that has constrained project viability.
