Government will not compromise on rule of law, says PM Anwar

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that Malaysia's commitment to the rule of law remains unwavering, dismissing any suggestion that the government would compromise its principles by tolerating corrupt practices.

Anwar said the nation's foundational commitment to the rule of law serves as a guiding principle for governance and will not be weakened by pressures to accept corruption or misuse of authority.

"The rule of law is not negotiable," the Prime Minister asserted, underlining the government's resolve to maintain institutional integrity and accountability across public institutions.

His remarks come as Malaysia continues efforts to strengthen governance frameworks and address concerns over institutional independence. The government has previously emphasized its zero-tolerance stance towards corruption as part of broader reforms aimed at rebuilding public trust.
