The bilateral meetings underscored India's push to attract foreign capital and deepen economic ties with American business leaders.
In his meeting with Blackstone President and Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Gray and Chairman of International Private Equity Prakash Melwani, discussions centered on expanding the investment firm's presence and partnerships across India's key sectors. The Commerce Ministry highlighted Blackstone's potential to strengthen its investment footprint in the country.
Goyal also engaged with Neuberger Berman Chairman and CEO George Walker, and Stephane de La Faverie, President and CEO of The Estee Lauder Companies. These conversations focused on growth prospects in India, particularly in manufacturing, sourcing, and the nation's expanding beauty and personal care market, which has emerged as an attractive sector for international investors.
The minister met separately with IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna to discuss deepening the technology giant's engagement in India. These meetings reflect New Delhi's broader strategy to position the country as a premier investment destination amid global efforts to diversify supply chains and expand international partnerships.
