A granddaughter's birthday party turned into a medical emergency in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, when a German Shepherd dog kept at the venue attacked a visiting family member on Sunday. The elderly man, who had arrived to celebrate the occasion, was mauled by the animal, sustaining multiple bite injuries across his body.
According to the victim's account, the dog inflicted more than 20 bite wounds during the assault. The severity of the injuries necessitated immediate medical intervention, and he was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment and wound care.
Following a formal complaint lodged by the victim's family, local police registered a case against the hotel management. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, including questions about the animal's containment and supervision at the premises.
