A rare green sea turtle perished Friday evening after being discovered in a weakened state on a shore in Calabanga, Camarines Sur. Fishermen and residents spotted the marine animal at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Zone 7-B, Sitio Maligaya, located in Barangay Sabang. The turtle bore a visible wound to its head.

Local residents attempted to assist the distressed animal, but conservation efforts proved unsuccessful. The circumstances leading to the turtle's weakened condition and head injury remain unclear.
