KUDAT: Hajiji Noor has urged all component parties within the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition to place the interests of Sabah above personal and political ambitions, cautioning against divisive power struggles that could weaken the state administration.
The GRS chairman stressed that coalition partners must work cohesively to address the pressing needs of Sabahans, rather than allowing ego-driven disputes to fracture the alliance. His remarks underscore growing concerns about internal tensions within the multi-party grouping that forms the backbone of Sabah's current government.
Hajiji's appeal comes as the coalition navigates the complexities of managing multiple stakeholders with competing interests. Political observers note that maintaining unity among diverse coalition members remains essential for implementing government policies and maintaining stability in the state.
The GRS, which brings together various political entities in Sabah, has previously faced challenges in reconciling the objectives of its constituent parties. By emphasizing state-level priorities, Hajiji appears to be signalling that coalition stability depends on subordinating factional interests to collective governance goals.
