Guangzhou Knowledge City to partner with Singapore institutions on healthcare, AI

Guangzhou Knowledge City has committed to working with Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) on joint initiatives in healthcare and artificial intelligence, officials said on Monday.

The partnership was unveiled at the 16th Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council meeting, a regular forum for advancing economic and technological cooperation between Singapore and China's Guangdong Province.

The move reflects growing momentum in cross-border collaboration between Singapore and the southern Chinese region, particularly in emerging sectors such as AI and healthcare innovation. Both institutions bring complementary strengths to the partnership, with SIT's focus on applied technology and SUSS's social sciences expertise positioning them to address practical challenges in these rapidly evolving fields.

Guangzhou Knowledge City, a major innovation hub in southern China, has positioned itself as a centre for technology development and research. The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange, joint research projects, and talent development between Singapore and Guangdong.

The collaboration council has served as a key mechanism for bilateral engagement on economic development, trade, and innovation since its establishment.
