Ashok Bhagabhai Thakor, a teenager from Gujarat, was lured to a remote farm shed where he was poisoned with spiked liquor and subsequently strangled to death, according to police investigations. The premeditated murder was allegedly staged to appear as a suicide to evade detection.
The accused, identified as a family member, reportedly orchestrated the crime following a dispute involving his sister's affair. Investigators determined that Thakor was deliberately targeted as part of a broader family conflict, with the perpetrator meticulously planning the crime to mask it as a self-inflicted death.
Police have recovered evidence from the crime scene corroborating the murder narrative. Preliminary findings indicate that the victim was deliberately administered poison through alcohol before being manually asphyxiated. The sequence of events and physical evidence ruled out suicide and pointed to calculated homicide.
The arrest follows an investigation that unraveled inconsistencies in the initial suicide theory. Family members and witnesses provided crucial information that led authorities to reconstruct the actual sequence of events and identify the perpetrator. The case underscores ongoing concerns regarding crimes of passion linked to family disputes in rural areas across India.
