A man in Rajkot has been accused of fabricating an armed robbery to sidestep repaying 40 lakh rupees borrowed from his uncle, according to police. The scheme unraveled when authorities detected inconsistencies in the alleged theft narrative, revealing it as a deliberate deception.
The suspect reportedly orchestrated the false robbery claim to create a pretext for non-repayment of the substantial debt. Rather than returning the borrowed funds, he devised the fictitious incident as cover, claiming he had been robbed of approximately 11 lakh rupees.
Upon uncovering the fraudulent nature of the complaint, Rajkot police initiated an investigation that led to the registration of a formal case. Besides the primary accused, two additional individuals have been named in connection with the scheme for their alleged involvement in fabricating the false narrative.
The case highlights the resort to criminal deception as a means of evading financial obligations. Police have launched further inquiries to establish the complete circumstances surrounding the fraudulent claim and determine the roles of all parties involved.
