Haas chief denies salary row holding up Bearman deal

MEXICO CITY — Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu has dismissed as "nonsense" reports suggesting that salary disputes are delaying Oliver Bearman's contract extension with the Formula One outfit.

Komatsu accused those circulating such claims of manufacturing stories to generate online engagement, rather than reporting on factual developments surrounding the British driver's future at the team.

Bearman, who has been linked with a potential multi-year deal at Haas, has impressed during his appearances for the American-owned outfit this season. However, negotiations over his long-term contract have drawn considerable media speculation in recent weeks.

The team principal's comments came amid the Mexican Grand Prix weekend, where Haas continues its push to strengthen its grid position for the remainder of the campaign and beyond.
