A severe hailstorm swept through Haridwar and Biznor on Wednesday, causing significant damage to vehicles and infrastructure across both regions. The intense weather system brought large hailstones that smashed windscreens and windows of numerous cars parked in open areas.
The meteorological event, which accompanied heavy rainfall, affected multiple locations in Haridwar, Uttarakhand's key pilgrimage city, and spilled into neighboring Biznor district in western Uttar Pradesh. Residents reported substantial losses as hailstones of considerable size fell for an extended period during the storm.
Local authorities have begun assessing the extent of damage across both districts. The incidents have raised concerns about property damage during the monsoon season, with vehicle owners urged to seek shelter during similar weather warnings. Weather officials continue to monitor atmospheric conditions in the region.
