The capital's poverty alleviation programme recognised 65 organisations and businesses for their charitable work during a commendation ceremony. The Hanoi Party Committee awarded certificates of merit to 12 organisations, while 14 others received commendations from the municipal People's Committee for their fundraising contributions to the "For Vietnam's Seas and Islands" Fund.
Another 19 organisations were recognised for mobilising resources to support residents affected by natural disasters in 2025, underscoring Hanoi's focus on disaster response and community resilience. A further 20 organisations and businesses were honoured for their ongoing social welfare contributions to the city's most vulnerable populations.
The recognition ceremony reflects Hanoi's broader strategy to leverage charitable organisations and private sector partnerships in addressing poverty and social inequality. Beyond relief efforts, the municipal government has also prioritised supporting disadvantaged students in coastal and island communities through scholarship programmes, while cultural initiatives aimed at assisting vulnerable women and children have received high-level political backing.
These measures form part of wider efforts to ensure vulnerable populations, including disadvantaged workers, receive adequate support ahead of major national holidays and throughout the year.
