Tran Duc Thang, a Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi's municipal Party Committee, met with representatives of Aquitara Fund and 512 Capital B.V. to discuss potential partnerships and investment opportunities in Vietnam's capital.

During the meetings, Thang highlighted Hanoi's key development priorities, which include industrial infrastructure, high-technology sectors, data centres, and green and sustainable development initiatives. The discussions underscored the city's ambition to position itself as a destination for foreign direct investment in emerging sectors.

The visit to Belgium also included engagements with Belgian institutions and port authorities, reflecting Hanoi's broader strategy to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties with European partners. The Belgian region of Wallonia has previously contributed to enhancing Vietnam-Belgium relations in trade and investment.

Thang's visits to the Egmont Institute and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges demonstrated Hanoi's interest in learning from European expertise in logistics, governance, and sustainable development practices. The outreach efforts form part of Vietnam's wider engagement with international partners to support the capital's long-term economic growth objectives.
